Margaret Borthwick Artist

Art in Landscape and Nature

Margaret Borthwick is a contemporary artist, based in Renfrewshire, Scotland.

Margaret's main love is the landscape and the patterns that are found in nature, especially in the woodlands and wetlands of her local area.

Margaret was a General Practitioner in Renfrewshire for 37 years and rediscovered her love of art when she semi-retired from medicine. She took a degree course in Painting when retired, obtaining her honours degree in 2023. She continues to paint and exhibit as artist.

She is an artist member of both the Glasgow Society of Women Artists and of the Paisley Art Institute.

The shortlist was selected by a panel of leading art world figures, including President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and BBC presenter Adebanje Alade,  watercolour master Alvaro Castagnet, editor of Artists & Illustrators Niki Browes, National Trust Curator and art historian Dr Amy Orrock  and co-founder of Panter and Hall gallery Tiffany Hall.
